Privacy Policy

SiftingSats is a read-only analytics tool. We collect as little personal information as possible — essentially just what's needed to run an account — and we don't sell it or share it for advertising. This page explains what we store, why, and the choices you have.

• Account details — your email address, a securely hashed version of your password (never the password itself), whether your email is confirmed, and account timestamps. This is the only personal information we store about you.
• Usage analytics — first-party, no personal data: an event name (e.g. "page view"), the page path, and an anonymous session identifier. We use this only to understand which features are used. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't track you across other sites.
• On-chain data is not your data — the Bitcoin metrics we display are computed from the public blockchain. They aren't personal information about you.

When you're signed in we set a single essential, HttpOnly session cookie so the site knows you're logged in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We rely on a small number of service providers to operate:

• Hosting — our web app and API/database run on reputable cloud infrastructure.
• Email — a transactional email provider (Resend) sends account emails (confirm your address, reset your password). It only receives what's needed to deliver those messages.

If we ever offer paid plans, payments will be handled by a third-party merchant of record — we won't store your card details.

• Access & correction — you can view your account details on the Account page.
• Deletion — you can permanently delete your account (and its data) yourself from the Account page at any time.

We keep account data until you delete your account. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to collect little and protect what we hold.

If we make material changes to this policy we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users.
